Bridget Barker, Partner, Macfarlanes
Bridget joined the firm in 1981 and has been a partner since 1988. Bridget is head of the investment funds and financial services group. She advises clients on establishing both onshore and offshore private funds for private equity, real estate, mezzanine, infrastructure, renewable energy and other types of funds. She has considerable experience acting for both fund managers and also for a variety of investors from both the UK and abroad. In addition, Bridget advises on a variety of financial services and regulatory issues.
Bridget has led teams who have advised a large number of executives who have established themselves as new fund managers and set up their first time funds including Greenhill European Capital Partners, Darwin Private Equity, 17 Capital, Spirit Capital, Syntaxis Capital and Lennox Capital. She also advises a large number of existing private equity and real estate fund managers on their ongoing issues including Alchemy Partners, Montagu, Sovereign, ING, LGV, Langholm and Legal & General.
She recently led the team advising on a new Luxembourg Sharia’a compliant umbrella fund.
Cécile Belaman, Director, Investor Relations, Bain Capital
Ms. Belaman joined Bain Capital in 2008. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Ms. Belaman was with Morgan Stanley for nine years, most recently as Executive Director in the Private Equity Fund of Funds business, responsible for fundraising and investor relations globally. Prior to 2003, Ms. Belaman was financial sponsor coverage officer for Morgan Stanley, overseeing relationships with Bain Capital Europe and other private equity firms. Ms. Belaman also worked for the financial sponsors group at JPMorgan and for HVS International.

Stephan Breban, Director, Private Equity, Russell Investments
Stephan Breban is director of private equity at Russell Investments. Stephan manages Russell’s research into private equity and the selection of managers for Russell’s consulting clients. In addition to manager research and selection he manages the construction of private equity portfolios, overseeing the exposure to different sectors to ensure sufficient diversification across sectors, markets and geographies, as well as managing the level of commitments to achieve the desired level of investment.
Stephan has co-authored papers for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries as well as writing numerous articles on private equity. He is a regular speaker on private equity at conferences around the world. He has been invited to consult with the Treasury and the Bank of England in their studies of private equity.
Prior to joining Russell Stephan ran his own company, researching and selecting managers for a large European consulting practice and two multi-manager funds either side of the Atlantic. Stephan also sits on the Advisory Boards of three private equity funds. While covering private equity for over 20 years, Stephan has also advised pension plans on a range of activities including manager selection in all major asset classes, manager structures, asset allocation and DC fund offerings.
Janet Brooks, Managing Director, Monument Group
Monument Group was established in 1994 and is a leading independent placement agent with offices in Boston and London. Over the last 15 years the firm has helped its client raise more than $67bn for a range of alternative investment strategies ranging from buyouts to energy and real estate. Recent fund closes include the €2bn Altor Fund III and the $1bn Cerberus Institutional Partners International (Series One).
Jacques Callaghan, Deputy Head (UK & International), Hawkpoint
Jacques is Deputy Head (UK & International) of Hawkpoint and Head of Private Equity coverage and sits on the Management Committee at Hawkpoint. He has extensive experience advising Private Equity firms on acquisitions and disposals both in the US and Europe. He worked in the Financial Sponsor team at Merrill Lynch in New York before the last 8 years spent at Hawkpoint. Prior to Merrill Lynch, he established the Financial Sponsor team in New York for Charterhouse Bank and was an equity analyst at Cazenove and Co in London. He graduated from Cambridge University.
John Campbell, Senior Partner, Campbell Lutyens
The firm’s team of over 50 executives and advisers is based in London, New York and Hong Kong. The firm provides financial advice to governments, institutions and fund managers with a singular focus on the private equity and infrastructure sectors. Its three activities comprise, firstly, strategic advice to major sector participants including governments and pension plans on all aspects of private equity and infrastructure. Secondly, Campbell Lutyens structures and intermediates the placement of private equity and infrastructure funds between the GPs and institutional investors. In the infrastructure field the firm has pioneered fund structures which incorporate partnership terms which are appropriate to the asset class and vehicles which deliver longer term access to assets. Thirdly, Campbell Lutyens is the leading European based firm advising on the sale and partnering of worldwide secondary portfolios of direct investments or limited partnership interests in the private equity and infrastructure classes.
John Campbell holds an MA in Economics from Cambridge University. He is a board member of the Pacific Pension Institute (www.pacificpension.org), which provides assistance to leading pension plans and other investors. John Campbell edited a book on the financing of infrastructure which was published in early 2009.
Stephen Cavell, Senior Partner, Graphite Capital
Stephen is responsible for fundraising and investor relations after having led and structured transactions on the investment team. He joined Graphite Capital in 1993, having previously worked in the corporate finance department of Baring Brothers and at Barclays Bank in the UK and France. He has law degrees from the Universities of Kent and Paris and an MBA with distinction from Warwick Business School.
Tatiana Chopova, Principal, AlpInvest Partners
Tatiana is a Principal in the Fund Investments Team of AlpInvest Partners, which is a global investment firm, dedicated to private equity, with approximately EUR 35 bn under management. Tatiana is responsible for identifying, structuring, and monitoring AlpInvest Partners' fund commitments with a special focus on European funds. She has been responsible for AlpInvest's private equity commitments to various funds since 2003 and she is a member of several advisory boards including 3i, KKR Europe, Gresham, Segulah, Investitori Associati, Astorg, Advent CEE, B&S, Baring Vostok, Phoenix, and Palamon.

Christopher Cooke, Managing Director, Greenhill
Mr. Cooke is a Managing Director in Greenhill’s Private Capital Advisory Group. Mr. Cooke joined Greenhill in 2008 from CQS, a leading London based hedge fund, as a member of the Fund Raising and Investor Relations team, focusing on marketing credit and private equity strategies. Prior to CQS, Mr. Cooke was a Managing Director for European and Middle East funds raising for all Private Equity at Lehman Brothers. Before this, Chris was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in Fixed Income. Mr. Cooke holds a BA from Georgetown University, Washington D.C. and an MBA from Fordham University, New York City.
Christian Dummett, Head of UK Business Development, LGT Capital Partners
Christian Dummett is Head of UK Business Development for LGT Capital Partners (LGT CP), a private equity and hedge fund-of-funds manager with approximately $18bn of commitments and assets under management. Prior to joining LGT CP, Christian was Managing Partner of Corris Capital, a private equity advisory business, having previously been Head of Merrill Lynch's private equity placement business in Europe. After 10 years in international banking, Christian commenced his private equity career in 1998 as Head of Private Equity at Abbey National Treasury Servives where he established and managed a $2.5bn global investment programme.
Richard co-founded August Equity in 2001. He is now chairman of the firm and chairs its Investment Committee.
He previously spent 13 years at Kleinwort Benson (latterly Dresdner Kleinwort Benson) where he started his private equity career. Prior to that, Richard spent five years with Coopers and Lybrand where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Richard has a BA in Accountancy and is a member of the council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (“ICAEW”) and is a vice chairman of the Corporate Finance Faculty of the ICAEW. Richard is a past chairman of the British Venture Capital Association and still represents August Equity on the BVCA’s Mid Market Committee. Nils joined ATP PEP in 2007. Before joining ATP PEP he was a partner in the law firm Danders & More (former Osborne Clarke) where he headed the corporate practice He is also admitted to the Supreme Court of Denmark and has also worked as a principal in the Danish Ministry of Economical and Business Affairs. Helen Kenyon joined Preqin in 2006 and now heads up the private equity investor research team. Helen and her team maintain a comprehensive database of over 4,000 investors in private equity and are in daily contact with LPs around the world in order to ascertain their current appetite for private equity investments and the strategies they are seeking to employ. During her time at Preqin, Helen has overseen the production of numerous private equity investor-related publications, projects and surveys. Helen has a BA from the
Preqin, the alternative assets information service, provides extensive research, data and consultancy services on private equity, private real estate, infrastructure and hedge funds. Preqin is an independent business with 70 staff serving over 4,700 customers in 72 countries. Preqin tracks fund returns, fundraising information, fund terms and conditions, the GPs running the funds, and the LPs investing in them. This information is provided to Preqin’s customers through a range of hard copy publications, online databases, and bespoke research projects.
Dan Kjerulf, Partner, Legal Counsel, Danske Private Equity
Dan has 26 years of experience in legal matters relating to private equity and other financial transactions, and has been responsible for negotiating and structuring terms and conditions governing all portfolio funds in Danske PEP I-IV. Dan serves on the advisory committees of two portfolio funds and is a member of the Legal Affairs Committee of the Danish Venture Capital Association and of the Limited Partners Platform of the European Venture Capital Association.
Dan’s focus on negotiating and drafting commercially minded contractual relationships ensures an ongoing alignment of interest between Danske Private Equity, its investors and portfolio funds. Before joining Danske Private Equity, Dan was Head of the Legal Section in Danske Securities Corporate Finance, where his duties included due diligence on and monitoring of equity fund investments made by the Danske Bank Group, and advising third party clients on a range of transactions involving private equity funds. Prior to heading the legal section of Danske Securities, Dan held various legal positions within Danske Bank (HandelsBanken).

Sébastien Lecaudey, Investor Relations Director, Antin Infrastructure Partners
Sébastien Lecaudey joined Antin Infrastructure Partners as Investor Relations Director in October 2008 from BNP Paribas Investment Partners where he was Chief Operating Officer of the alternative and Private Equity Investments unit. Prior to this, Sebastien has worked in Luxembourg where he was deputy Managing Director of BNP Paribas Fund Services in charge of the Global Fund Services product line. Sébastien has been a member of several Luxembourg funds.
Sébastien graduated from the Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK with a BA in European Economics and Finance, as well as from the University of Rennes (France) with a Master in Corporate Finance. Sébastien also graduated from the HEC Executive MBA.
Charles Lemon, Partner, Matrix
Charles Lemon is Partner responsible for distribution at Matrix Private Funds Group, a London based placement agent with a specific focus on the lower end of the market – fund sizes < €500m. Charles joined the Private Funds Group in May 2005. Prior to joining Matrix, Charles worked in International Relationship Management for the American private bank Brown Brothers Harriman. Matrix Private Funds Group is part of Matrix Group, a privately owned financial services business founded in 1987, which has raised more than £11.5bn for its investment products.
Simond Lund, Head of Sales and Marketing EMEA, HarbourVest Partners
Simon Lund joined the Firm’s London-based subsidiary in 2010 to concentrate on managing relationships with new investors and their advisers in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He joined the Firm from SVG, a London-based private equity fund-of-funds manager, where he focused on the marketing and distribution of their funds to institutional investors. Most recently, he opened SVG’s Singapore office and served as a Director of SVG Advisers (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Prior to that, he was the Marketing Director at SVG Advisers Limited in London. He received a MA (Honors) in Economic History and Economics from the University of Edinburgh in 1991. He also completed his ACA accountancy examinations and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen.

Jeremy Lytle, Investor Relations Director, ECI Partners
Jeremy Lytle is ECI’s Investor Relations Director. He helped lead the recent ECI 9 fundraising which closed in December 2008 above its £400m target, he joined ECI in 2007 having spent the previous three years as head of Investor Relations and Chief Operating Officer at FM Capital Management, a hedge fund manager. Prior to that he spent seven years with Cazenove & Co and Cazenove Capital. Jeremy had an early career in the British Army. Based in London, he has an MA in English from the University of Edinburgh, is a fellow of the Securities Institute and also studied Economics at London Business School. Jeremy is a member of the BVCA’s Responsible Investment Advisory Group.
Charles Magnay, Partner, Altius Associates
Charles Magnay is a Partner on the Investment Team based in London. He is extensively involved in reviewing investment opportunities in Europe and maintaining strong relationships with top general partners in the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). Prior to setting up Acrostic he was a Partner of INVESCO and a General Partner and Managing Director of INVESCO Private Capital (IPC); a New York based private equity group. He was responsible for all private equity investments and marketing outside of the Americas. He now consults to Invesco Private Capital and is also Chairman of Core Capital VCT IV, a group specialising in expansion capital and mezzanine investments in the U.K.

Elizabeth O'Reilly, Director, KKR
Elizabeth is a director at KKR Capital Markets.
Previously she has worked at LBO France from 2003, with responsibility for general fund raising and co-investments. To-date, she has raised over 20 funds representing close to €4 billion.
Previously an Investment Manger at the family office of Bernard Arnault, she also worked as an equity analyst on the European food /specialist retail sector with the highly ranked team at Credit Suisse First Boston.
Elizabeth commenced her career in Mergers and Acquisitions with Bankers Trust in Paris and New York.
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Ulster (N Ireland) with a BA in Economics and MSc in Finance from the University of Reading in the UK.
Carolyn Pearce, Director, Investor Relations, Infracapital
Carolyn joined Infracapital as Investor Relations Director in September 2010 and is responsible for communications and reporting to LPs and fund-raising efforts. Prior to joining M&G, Carolyn was a Senior Associate Director at Goldman Sachs NZ in the investment banking team, where she worked for over 6 years. Carolyn worked on a large number of transactions across both M&A advisory and capital markets processes across a wide range of industries.
Carolyn's experience includes responsibility for managing the complete sale process on numerous M&A transactions, including the sale of Yellow Pages Group, New Zealand’s largest M&A deal, the sale of Envirowaste (New Zealand’s leading waste management company), the sale of Hirepool (industrial services) and the sale of Metlifecare (Retirement Village operator). In addition Carolyn was the primary client contact for several core franchise clients assisting on a broad range of advisory and investor relations engagements.
Before joining Goldman Sachs Carolyn worked for 18 months at Deloitte in Corporate Finance in New Zealand.
Carolyn holds a BCom (Hons (1st class)) in Finance and Economics from the University of Auckland and is also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Nadia Preston, Investor Relations Director, Apax Partners

Johanna Reineke, Assistant Director, Advent International
Johanna Reineke joined Advent International in 2007. She is a member of Advent's Limited Partner Services Group and is primarily focused on fundraising and investor relations activities in Europe. Previously, Johanna worked for four years in the M&A and Corporate Broking departments of Deutsche Bank, both in the London and Frankfurt offices. There she advised clients across a range of sectors on a number of transactions including international public and private mergers and acquisitions, flotations and secondary equity offerings.
Johanna has a BSc (First Class Hons) in Business Administration from the University of Bath, School of Management and as part of her degree spent a semester at the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
Philippe Roesch, Private Equity Fund of Funds Manager
Philippe Roesch is an experienced private equity investment manager with 17 years of international fund-of-funds and direct investment experience. Mr. Roesch is very well-networked in the GP community and has been representing investors at numerous advisory committees of private equity funds in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and the Nordic countries as well as of pan-European special situations funds. He was until recently Managing Director and Head of Auda's European private equity activities. Prior to joining Auda, Mr. Roesch was Head of Private Equity with Harald Quandt Holding, responsible for the global private equity funds investments of the H. Quandt Family in Asia, Europe and the US. He began his career in international funds-of.funds in the mid-1990s as a Senior Investment Manager with Deutsche Beteiligungs-AG, where he was responsible for a significant global fund-of-funds as well as co-investments programme successively in Asia, the US and Western Europe. Mr. Roesch gained his direct investment experience with Deutsche Bahn AG Holding, where he was primarily engaged in M&A and JV projects in Europe, and with Triton, where he focused on buyout opportunities in Germany. He began his career as an M&A-advisor with BHF-Bank AG in Frankfurt.
Mr. Roesch earned a Mastère degree from HEC School of Management, Paris, a Sciences Po degree from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques, Strasbourg, and degrees in International Economics and Banking & Finance from the University of Strasbourg. He is fluent in English, French, and German.
Grant Roberts, Co-Head of Private Equity Advisory, Richmond Park Partners
Grant has spent the last 14 years as an adviser and investor in private equity. Prior to joining Richmond Park Partners he co-founded Newgate CSP, a specialist private equity advisory and investment business, having previously been a senior professional at 3i.

The Private Equity Advisory Group is a leading specialist adviser to private equity general partners (GPs) and limited partners (LPs) with experience and expertise in GP M&A, GP/LP re-alignment and negotiations, secondary transactions and fundraising. Grant has advised on some of the more complex and innovative transactions including the take private and change of manager of a listed investment vehicle, advised a group of investors on the proactive replacement of an incumbent fund manager and restructuring of the fund, advised the manager of one of the UK’s largest pension funds on its private equity strategy resulting in two transactions which have transformed and repositioned its activities, and led negotiations on fund reconstructions.
Grant has a Masters in Applied Finance and Investment, a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.
Buchan Scott, Partner, Duke Street
Buchan Scott: Partner, joined Duke Street in 1999 from industry. Prior to that Buchan worked as a solicitor specialising in corporate finance and transactional work including private equity. Buchan has a degree in law and MBA and is a member of the BVCA Regulatory Committee. Duke Street has been active in private equity since the late 1980s during which time it has raised 6 mid market buy out funds.
Claus Stenbaek, Managing Director, Keyhaven Capital Partners
Claus Stenbaek is a Managing Director of Keyhaven Capital Partners, a London-based independent boutique advisory and management company focused on providing a quality product and service to a select number of institutional investors. Claus has over twenty years of direct private equity as well as fund selection and quoted securities experience, most recently as Executive Director and Partner of Danske Private Equity. His earlier positions include Founder and Managing Director of Richmond Capital Limited, a niche investment bank, and responsibility for the overall management of a European family investment company with offices in the Netherlands, Sweden and the UK. He has also served as the Madrid-based CFO of F.L.Smidth & Cia Espanola, and as a Senior Consultant with Andersen Consulting.
Claus received a BS in Finance and Accounting from Copenhagen Business School and earned an Executive MBA cum laude from Instituto de Impresa, Madrid. He is fluent in English, Danish, Spanish, Norwegian, and Swedish, and speaks conversational French and German.
Oksana Tiedt, Investments, Swift Capital Partners
Oksana Tiedt is inter alia focused on investments. She has been with Swift Capital Partners since early 2008.
Previously, she worked as private equity investment professional with Bain Capital in London and Munich for 6 years, where she executed a number of European and global deals. Prior to that she was an analyst in Goldman Sachs M&A department in New York.
Oksana holds a Masters Degree in Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University (SAIS), Washington D.C. and speaks English, German, Russian and Japanese.
Hans van Swaay, Partner, Lyrique
Hans van Swaay has been more than twenty years in private equity as co-founder of Lyrique, as Head of Private Equity at Pictet & Cie, as Managing Director of UBS Capital, as Managing Director of Merifin and as partner of Lowe Finance.
He has made fund investments worldwide and direct investments in Switzerland, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and in the Netherlands. He sat on numerous boards, restructured companies and ran companies as CEO when necessary.
Hans van Swaay holds an MBA with honours from IMD (Switzerland), an MSc. in engineering geology from Leeds University (UK) and a BSc. in geology from Leiden University (the Netherlands).
Richard Waddington, Chief Executive Officer, First Protocol
In 1995, after more than 20 years client side, LSE, Warburgs, Rothschild, Richard left to set up his own event communications agency, First Protocol. Now recognized as one of the market leaders in the PE and Financial sectors First Protocol deliver events around the World for their international client base. As CEO, Richard heads up company strategy and business development initiatives as well as working with existing and new clients on defining their event communication requirements and making sure every penny spent is put to work on their behalf.
